Zeballos sits by an estuary at the head of a fjord. It is surrounded by coastal mountains and magnificent British Columbia wilderness. This location gives easy access to exceptional fishing grounds around Esperanza Inlet, Nuchatlitz and Nootka Sounds.

Fishing boats
Our 24-foot boats, skippered by knowledgeable, experienced guides, have enclosed cabins and washrooms. We supply electric downriggers and high-quality fishing gear on all our fishing charters, but if you'd rather use your own rods and fishing tackle, feel free.

- Eight hour guided fishing trip aboard 24' covered boats
- Fish cleaning, bagging and icing

Reeling them in, year-round
When you fish the Esperanza Inlet area with Nootka Fish Charters, you'll be casting for trophies. Many of our Chinook, or spring salmon, as they're also called, exceed 30 pounds, making them official West Coast Tyee. They are considered by anglers to be the most challenging fish around. (In case you wanted to know, Tyee is a Chinook word meaning "chief" or "superior.")
The best time for Chinook-salmon fishing is June to September. Coho salmon (silvers), another exciting catch (especially if fly fishing with light tackle), are also bountiful in summer and fall.
Other salmon abundant in Nootka Sound / Zeballos / Nuchatlitz are sockeye in June and chum in October and November. Feeder spring salmon arrive just in time for Christmas.
Halibut fishing is popular in May and June, when they can be found closer to shore. These fine-tasting fish can also be caught all summer farther out. Yellow eye, red snapper, ling cod and other bottom fish are plentiful year round.

Looking after your catch
For your convenience, we clean and freeze your catch at the end of each day. We can also arrange to have your fish smoked, packaged and shipped.
